Berea College Student Craft
Berea’s Student Craft was founded in 1893 by Berea College President William G. Frost. In the context of a changing world, Student Craft symbolized the beauty of handmade items and a desire to preserve the traditions of days gone by.
Recently, Student Craft has aligned more intentionally with Berea College’s Great Commitments, the enduring mission of this institution. Student Craft supports students in the design of products inspired by the Commitments that also demonstrate the relevance of craft in today’s world. Three-quarters of the products in this year’s Student Craft catalog has been designed by or with students over the past four years. These products represent students’ interpretation and application of the College’s principles and values and how these impact their lives and link them more closely to Berea’s powerful mission.
Your support of Berea College Student Craft is so much more than just the purchase of a craft item. You are supporting the creative power that Berea College students possess, the rigorous yet nurturing academic exploration our staff and faculty convey to students, and the mission that truly makes Berea College like no other.
We thank you for your enduring and steadfast support.
