Monarch butterflies are considered an endangered species, mainly due to their reliance on milkweed for reproduction.
This detailed sculpture was made using vitreous enamel (pulverized glass) that was applied by hand, using a delicate sprinkling method layered over solid copper and then kiln-fired. It has a metal circular hook for hanging.
