I saw my dad playing this in the 1960's and asked him about it. He made them himself, he was a cabinet maker. They are walnut and I loved playing it. I just got out to play and the tops he made were bad, I think our dog chewedthem up so I ordered the set and the new tops and strings work great!!!!! Thanks to those craftsmen. I am a cabinet maker also retired but enjoying skittles today again.

I’m in my 50s now but grew up playing this with my grandparents who bought this game during a visit to KY in the 70s. I have such fond memories of all-ages fun whenever the board came out that I finally bought one for myself.
It is BEAUTIFULLY crafted. I love the cherry! And as a bonus, my kittens love watching until the top falls over and then they go investigate. I also put a little battery operated wandering bug kind of cat toy in the board and they loved that. The chambers at the ends are fun for cat paws.

I reached under the bed and pulled out my skittles game this morning. I will be taking it to my church “game night” tomorrow evening. I received the game as a Christmas present over 60 years ago!! (1957? 1958?). Tomorrow evening I will be telling the church youth that skittles was my “video” game of the time. We live in Florida, but when my wife’s parents were living we would drive to Ohio and Berra Ky and the college gift shop was definite stop. We have purchased many gifts over the years, but skittles has the most memories.

This game is so beautiful! Lovely dove tailed corners in an amazing cherry color. Love this!

Skittles have been a part of the Student Craft catalog since the 1920's. We have subtly redesigned our version of the game to feature beautiful dovetailed corners and have switched to using sustainably harvested cherry as opposed the more traditional poplar.

For most of our students this project gives them their first opportunity at learning and mastering the dovetail joint which will be essential for them should they move on to special projects or their own furniture creations after graduation.

These games celebrate their longstanding place in Student Craft production by sporting the "Student Industries" logo which was used across Campus from the 1920's to the early 1970's.
